THE KOTOHELLA!!! I'M LOVE THEM. THEY ARE PRECIOUS TO ME.
God I cannot even tell you how much Kotoha and Hella's personalities complement each other. i MEAN, YOU ALREADY KNOW. YOU SAW IT. but it's just so funny to me, because they truly are both gremlins, but in totally different ways. So when Hella was being her most gremlin, Kotoha was just endeared by it, and vice versa. Symbiotic Gremlin Behavior. and as a fun-loving sort of person, Kotoha absolutely needs some Gremlin in her life to spice things up, lest she get a little too bored.
BUT ALL OF THAT ASIDE... hella is so much more than just that, and Kotoha has really come to respect and admire her. Kotoha thinks of life as a series of moments of luck--sort of like dice rolls. Some people are dealt a shitty hand from the start, and that's just bad lack. Kotoha Falling and becoming half-youkai was just her bad luck, and now she has to make the most of it. Likewise, Hella has been dealt a shitty life thus far, and that's just bad luck. And rather than wallowing in it or bemoaning it, Hella has taken that situation and built a new life out of its ashes. She knows what she wants, who she wants to be, and what she's doing. There's so much Kotoha admires in that, because she very much wants to be the exact same way. That's how she strives to live her life as well, but she can see that Hella has done it much better. It gives her something to admire, and also to aim for for herself.
all of that aside... Kotoha absolutely thinks Hella's adorable. She has eyes! Hella is cute and spicy and fierce, and listen, Kotoha's canon love interest is also smol but with a big personality. SO LIKE... Y'KNOW.
I will say that Kotoha backed off of flirting when she noticed how ride or die Ninety-Nine and Hella are for each other. She doesn't know if they're in love or family or both or all of the above but she's not a homewrecker!! But she did really like Hella and would've flirted with her much more otherwise... she has a type.
anyway anyway. Kotoha was very serious about wanting Hella to come to Sakurashin with Ninety-Nine to chill for awhile. Given the mission of the city is to build a place where people of all sorts of backgrounds and abilities can live in peace and harmony, she thinks it'd be a good experience for them. She wants Hella to be able to experience what it's like to get a pastry from a bakery in the morning, to have everyone on her street know her name and be glad to see her, to go to a study session with everyone at the ramen restaurant nearby. Those sorts of precious, simple, regular day-to-day things are what Kotoha wants to give to Hella most of all.
SO THAT'S HER GOAL. THERE'S NO ESCAPE. IT'S GONNA HAPPEN.
