Listen, Ninety-Nine was so cool!! Haru really admires cool and confident ladies who have cool lines, and Ninety-Nine was so blunt succinct that she was just automatically awed by her. Yes, she got scruffed in the sewers, but it was still very impressive and she was honored.
Beyond thinking that she was cool, though (SO COOL), she really appreciated the other sides of Ninety-Nine. The lady who was kind of awkward when trying to shill Hella as a cool person to get to know, the lady who reached out to her and tried to comfort her when Haru was feeling overwhelmed and wasn't sure how to go about it, but did manage to talk her down and establish that she was being cared about. And of course the lady who carried her after the bear attack and kept her safe, something Haru will never forget and will always be grateful for. She didn't want to be a burden, but Ninety-Nine never treated her like one and did in fact keep going out of her way to ensure that Haru was safe and out of harm's way, bridge included. She was never really afraid of her and her more volatile outbursts, just concerned.
If nothing else, Haru hopes that she has a brighter future awaiting her and given that she's offered to feed Hella whenever she establishes her cafe, Ninety-Nine better tag along because she's feeding her too!!!
