post-bite chaos

((Here’s the immediate aftermath of Suzuha getting infected, for Haru, Kotoha, Sigewinne, whoever else wants to come help and/or gawk! there's gonna be limb removal by axe down the line here, so be warned.))

[Suzuha doesn’t bother to pay attention to the searing pain throbbing at her wrist until everyone is safely accounted for on the dry land of the upper level—she’s in Go Mode, focused and sharp, right up until the tension finally begins to dissipate and she looks down to see the bloody mess that’s been made of her wrist. And wearing an unbuttoned short-sleeve baseball jersey that had been recently pilfered from their last stop over her t-shirt, it’s a very easy thing for everyone else to catch a glimpse of it too. There’s no hiding this one.

Blood trickles down and drips from her fingertips to join all of the water dripping from her water-logged hair and clothes after this misadventure. The space along her wrist has been torn into by two very gnarly-looking bite wounds—one shallower, the other having taken a sizable chunk out of her, and both ringed by the strange acid-like burns. Well. No wonder it hurt like hell to even attempt to make a fist with that hand.

She stumbles her way to a long-defunct mall directory display to lean against for support, staring mutely at her arm only until the approach of others finally gets her to look away and in their direction instead.]

Well, this is some bad luck, huh? [Nervous laughter, clearly forced.] Should… should probably do something about this.

[This is really bad, right? Like, what had she heard some of the others saying about bite wounds with these things? Oh god.

She has enough presence of mind to start undoing her belt with her good hand and slip it free from its loops, the survivalist part of her brain going into auto-pilot with the immediate need to use something to wrap around the limb to cut the circulation and slow the bleeding. But that second part proves to be harder when she’s shaky and it’s an awkward enough task to do one-handed as it is, so she might be needing a little help there. Probably a lot of help.]
