Howdy everyone!! It's me, jams lunarians, and I'm here to invite you to TURNOUT, the zombie horror survival short-term I have always wanted 🤡

The short version of the premise is this: characters have been hand selected by a scientist to deliver a cure for the zombie virus from Socal to Norcal. In order to go home, they've got to get to the portal stationed in Norcal in 8 weeks.

Other important things of note regarding charas/apps:

➤ There is a minimum player cap of 14, and a maximum player cap of 20.
➤ Characters must be above the age of 14.

IMPORTANT DATES:
➤ RESERVES: June 19th (10 AM PST, 1 PM EST)
➤ APPLICATIONS: June 24th (10 AM PST, 1 PM EST)
➤ GAME START: June 29th

Other contenders could possibly be Alfred from Bloodborne (radiantem), who could finally get his short-term game spotlight. People getting infected and turning violent? Just another day ending in Y.

Or maybe a more different tired gloomy vampire man, Dettlaff from the Witcher 3 (ardencies) but I would have to really canon review wheeze.

Freedom fighter from a dystopian future who undertakes a mission to travel back in time to prevent the world from getting fucked up. Extremely cheerful and outgoing, but flips into Serious Mode the moment things get real.

If not her it'd probably be an Arknights girl, I have too many to choose from.

Likelihood: Pretty committed, this looks like sooo much fun. The game opens the same weekend the new ffxiv expansion drops tho so I might be a little spotty for like the first weekend if I do app! Hopefully that won't be too much of a problem...

She's also a lab rat (+1 to the population), only her experimentation left her with blood that boils if she gets too angry, an overblown appetite, gnarly beast claws for arms, and enough corruption juice that she's likely to one day slowly and inevitably turn into a mindless, violent monster. So, you know. Perfect for the zombie apocalypse. If Hella is here, then she will be here. Unless I do something really mean.

Character Considerations: HELP I HAVE NO IDEA. I'm commenting with Amos because he's ol' faithful and he would be a good fit for the game but I also just finished putting together my muselist so I have many more options??

— Amos Burton, a spaceship mechanic, survivalist, and really great support guy (for actually getting shit done not for emotions sorry. He's not great at that second part).

— Mark Grayson, a baby superhero who really wants to do his best and help!! I assume some of his powers would be nerfed here which he'd have complicated feelings about because on the one hand they'd be really useful but on the other hand he's kind of terrified of what he can do!!

— D'Vana Tendi, an Orion Starfleet officer who loves her friends and is great at being a pirate and doing piracy but DOES NOT LIKE IT... She would be all in on helping though! This is an all hands on deck situation!!

— my ultimate wildcard YOU CANNOT JUDGE ME MORE THAN I AM JUDGING MYSELF, Miguel Alvarez ... yes from a series that ended more than 20 years ago ... He's been through Some Shit (heed his content warnings he's a fucking mess) but has managed to keep on going so, survivalist, really scrappy, and he'd be Highly Motivated to make it to the end ... he's a guy who would never get a second chance in canon but maybe here haha jk unless ...

OR MAYBE one of my other guys, I do really love making characters work in fish out of water scenarios... those are the four I'm thinking about the most though.

Likelihood: Pretty damn likely! I'm excited to sink my teeth into something new (with someone new??) and this timing works out soooo well for me.

Character Considerations: I DON'T KNOW! But my first thought was Blade from Honkai: Star Rail. Mostly because I think it would be funny if he was here. Can he be killed by a zombie? He's going to find out. But the script he follows will make sure he does his job. He may be too aloof for this game. But what if though... what if man...

My other thoughts are Alfred from Bloodborne Or Akechi from Persona 5 Or... in a surprise twist from me in that it's not a sad old man would be Alexstrasza from World of Warcraft. Wouldn't that be something?

Likelihood: This game falls on a long term game opening as well so it'd be a little tricky. I'm pretty committed because I love these games. I love Jams games. I love all of you. I will make it work.

Character Considerations: i am once again becoming a parody of myself...i am leaning towards satoru gojo from jujutsu kaisen, but teen-flavored from the flashback arc so he's even more hot-headed and annoying than you remember. other possibilities are aventurine or firefly from honkai: star rail, or i can REALLY become a parody of myself an app a genshin because childe/tartaglia would unironically have a great time here? yeah. a lot of little goblins in the playhouse to consider, but i also love to swerve so WHO KNOWS

Likelihood: fairly likely??? the game starts the same week as dawntrail, the latest expansion of the critically acclaimed mmorpg by square enix, final fantasy xiv for the playstation 5, now on xbox, but i'm also off work then so i probably can work in tags around gaming! (and when i inevitably get disconnected from the servers and have to sit in a two-hour queue)

top contender currently goes to furina genshin impact, fontaine's (and honestly teyvat's) #1 girlfailure. she has some support skills + healing ability, but she's also just as likely to step on a nail and give herself tetanus week 1 🫠

if that doesn't work out......idk. i default to wriothesley? i binge reread dungeon meshi and pull out laios?? i whip out an unexpected webtoon character.

Likelihood: 75%??? i'm all in on the setting, it's just a matter of finding a character i want to play enough for 8 weeks

The most likely candidate would be Puppy from Ruiner, who's a beefy gunslinging melee-monster organ farm who communicates predominantly via VIOLENCE and cryptic digital images on his mask. I honestly could be convinced to use anyone from this list, but I think Puppy could be very special for this setting and have a good character arc!

Likelihood: like 100%, im here to support class jams and shay's beautiful brainchild but will also 100% concede my spot to anyone determined to get in

Character Considerations: Embarrassingly, I very much miss playing OCs ... so my top two candidates at the moment are:

• this lad, Jion, who is a combat medic (slash meat shield) who is part worm and thus has funky regeneration abilities!
• Orrrr Lop (carcinoma) who is a bunny-man who can serve as a nurse! Don't worry about his mutations, he's just a little diseased. :')
• That said I feel like I should also have some canon character considerations ... after looking over my muselist I feel like the likeliest candidates would be Nobimaru (nastylittleshit) from Kemono Jihen (don't worry, he's 19, he just disguises himself as a little kid and would probably eventually drop the guise (whenever I get off my ass and make him a second set of icons, wheeze)), who's a tricksy and conniving little fuck, but can play nice to accomplish a goal! Orrrr Tanaka (subject002) from Ajin, who's a gruff and sorta closed-off but ultimately well-meaning guy. His intrigue would probably mostly come from him being technically immortal and thus posing a fun quandry for if he ever gets bitten and turned. :^)

Likelihood: CLENCHES FIST SO HARD, let's say .... 70% .... I want to play so bad but July and August are probably extremely chaotic months for me, so this is purely a me problem, not a you problem ... everyone looks so fabulous, I want to play here so bad, weh!

Concerns: If my schedule ends up giving me too many reservations and I don't follow through, I hope everyone has an amazing time, I know you will!!!
